IMPORTANT UPDATE
Just been on the phone a while with the organisers and discussed the transport issues (cost) you guys on the island are always facing.
The organisers are going to help by following:
To solve issue 1 - personal transport:
There will be arranged 2 minibussess for transport from Prague airfield to the Track and back.
So everybody who wants to go, this is your chance to look into booking your flight!
There will be limited space in the busses though, approximately 7 persons per bus.
Your private busses will run for FREE !!!
Important would be to decide on an arrival date/gathering time.
The busses can wait a bit on the airport but not the full day!
My suggestion would be therefor to gather either on wednesday or thursday at Prague Airport and drive from there to the camping/track.
Tip (as tips seem to be hot here...) : go a few days earlier and enjoy the town Prague, it is the pearl of eastern Europe and a must see!
Transport back track->Prague would be on monday.
Transport issue 2 - Your stuff.
We are looking now into the option of transporting 2 or 3 palets of gear from the UK and back.
The organiser has some very good contacts with transport firms that regulary drive to the UK and Czech. This would hopefully mean we can get the costs down to a reasonable level as well. Maybe some of you have a good connection to a firm in transport scene as well.
Feed me with info when you have!
There should be just 1 loading point in the UK and we need to fix that together with the loading date.
The organisers advise to take just the nescessary stuff like some spares, your car and tyres to pack on the pallet; so some more cars fit on the pallet.
2 complete toolboxes will be arranged at the track for you Brits (free) for use for those that wish to leave their tools at home.
Stuff your tooling in your lugauge
And use hand luguage for most of your clothing.
Think over if you wish to race there.
The organisers are trying their utmost to help you guys out and keep your cost limited to the lowest possible.
When you look on internet you will find return flights easy for around 100GBP or less.
I personally think you are offered a great opportunity to race and meet great like minded pilots & friends abroad at one of Europe's most thrilling dirt tracks !!!
Let's keep it real
If you are intrested, put your name down by replying here;
so we can get things a bit more confirmed.
Sleeping over:
We are right now reserving a few small sheds/camping houses for you directly next the track at the camping. Each room provides 2 single beds with blankets & pillow. There is no running water in the small camping house, but you have electricity.
Showers, toilets etc are at the camping place central located.
A pub you will also find directly at the camping where you can eat and have 1 (or 2).
There are also a few pensions close to the camping/track at walking distance still being free. Staying directly at the camping is a bit cheaper though and more of fun if you wish to enjoy the social element. But for those wanting a more quiet stay that is also possible.
you can also camp if you like better to sleep in your own tent, that saves a few Czech Crowns more.
Tip
A normal speccy does delay quite in the far left corner due to the size of the track. Spread spectrum systems are fine and so is a pcm.
Gues that sums it up about
