Interesting statement though, several years ago front mounted, rear mounted and indeed twin calipers on each hub (front and rear piped together) were tested (on road but the principles are the same). The only noticeable effect was the free running/drag without any braking being used, the actual braking effect was the same, and in theory it should be any way (assuming there's no flex/movement in the hub, spindle or bearings)
