Having had some real giggles servicing and repairing the servo saver I decided to see if there was a simple solution,

I cut off the front part of the radio tray between the two bulkheads, and made two torsion spacer rods to bolt between the bulkheads (8mm alloy rod machined - drilled and taped M4 each end), then made a new angled top servo saver pivot brace! (Which was a bit of a challenge with hand tools in the shed but it is polished of course) J

Now I can remove my servo saver literally in seconds make adjustments very easy and I have lost a bit more weight off the car….simples! And It is actually stronger which is a bonus. I also drilled a small hole in the rear bulkhead to route the brake pipe through to stop it rubbing on the servo saver.

The other big benefits are that you can remove the radio tray complete to aid cleaning etc without disturbing the bulkhead, likewise you can undo 4 bulkhead screws and remove the front end in one piece.

Happy Hacksawing chaps.... Be brave Cool

TEAM NOMAD...

I dont suppose there is a car in the LSOR that doesnt have a few "issues" but when you consider where Contrast are afte just one season of racing the cars are not suffering too many faults do you agree, whats more the two cars that won National and super national are 99.5% stock kits.
I dont think you will find any really.... honestly stock.... cars in the complete LSOR field. Most people do little mods to thier cars anyway some important, some just for that bling factor we all crave for Wink

One thing that cant be take away from contrast is the cars are very strong as well as very light...... ohhh and they seem to be fast as well.

While enjoying a beer with the horman lads during the season, it seems all the cars have thier weak points... (some more than others) Laughing But thats racing ... the faster we go the more fragile the cars will become... nowt we can do except grin and bear it. I know of one driver who has bent / broken more than 6 chassis this season Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad and he doesent drive a contrast Wink and its not me Wink thank god Embarassed

However seriously i can state the standard servo saver is as good as any of the competition, and there is no design fault Very Happy, however when you are a beginer like me who takes frequent trips into the scenery to test the robustnes of the car Confused it makes sense to have a quick detach servo saver if possible Embarassed

For drivers like Ian , the two Mikes, Andy, Darren, Mark, Ray, Simon, Tony and the other drivers who have ordered new contrasts there will not be a problem because they tell me thier brilliant Cool Confused Confused Laughing Laughing

Ohhh Muffins will be a regular feature in the team contrast tent in 2010 Wink Wink Wink Wink

Jase me old mucker

the contrast Fuego 09 was launched to us mere mortals just prior to Holland this year
The earlier version was only run by Mike Humphries in the UK
I was appointed distributor officially in April and here we are at the end of October (nearly) with a credible set of results and a good car to go into 2010 with.
