Matt
Im as happy as larry ...... and you wont scare me off,
All joking aside 2010 looks like a horman / contrast battle royal...... brilliant as this is just what the sport need to inject a bit of passion and fun back into the sport. One make series... who needs it... the more the merryier.... whooooooo hoooooo
2010 will be a blinderAs you can see the make of car you drive is a personal one
Horman are very good and established with good back up
Contrast are the new kids on the block, but are learning fast
Elcon will be there again soon (if Onno and Jan have anything to do with it)
Fg are i think in waiting with bob watching every move
HPI bajas are very fast in the right hands, (comon lads blow of the cobwebs and come racing)
Baja clones are also good on the day, (just see groovy hippy chick when she has not had too many beers)
MCD's are fast period
Rampage TT well nuff said perhaps (barry can add a few words of condolence)

Yes, and that'll be another 10 pager!!!
It's ironic that it's just 'toy cars' but yet the brand loyalty and passion runs very deep in some people, be it with the car itself, radio gear, batteries, oil etc etc
The over riding difference between most cars and results is the driver and knowing how to set the car up

f….king hell just read this thread, what have you started Mr. Yates !!!!
For what it’s worth (1 year’s RC experience), I’ll add my unbiased opinion to this debate:
If you’re a novice then I would go for a Hoermann, why, because it’s competitive, easy to work on, suitable for all conditions and above all else very strong. To put this into perspective my car could win awards for its gymnastic impressions but surprisingly It with stands most of the abuse I have thrown at it. So it’s a simple formula, buy Hoermann, abuse it learning how to drive (it’s strong so it won’t cost you an arm and a leg). Once you have perfected your skill you have a ready made car that is capable of winning races.
Now for a balanced opinion (for the record I own a Hoermann TK08):
Contrast 09 – Very stable, great cornering but I’m yet to be convinced it has the strength of a Hoermann. What’s interesting about this car is it has had a great first year (results prove that). This could well be the car to have if you have a bit of experience behind you….
BX3 – Not run yet competitively so can’t comment. As stated track side support could be an issue.
Elcon Cleon – Looks very good in the hands of an experienced driver, handles well in dry but needs a bit more factory development work in wet conditions. Price of spares are reasonable but are not if you’re buying them in bulk!
Don’t worry about all this banter, they’re all one big happy family really!!

now now jonny the redcat was the first to be seen racing in the nationals
(probably the last) but it had a lot of curiosity about it even you fancied a go.
those that have driven it have been surprised and some even enjoyed it
although there arnt many trigger flickers instead of pullers.
so watch out
i may be rampaging your way !!! _________________
