Well, that was round 6 at sunny Sweetnap ! !

Another great day for the Contrast team. with 4 out of the top 5 being Contrasts. Very Happy with only one solitary Hormann! who could have forseen that last year??

Saturday started with the love bus up to its neck in mud. Crying or Very sad and located firmly on its pitch with no chance of being blown away, or burnt to the ground, with the possible exception of saturday nights feature moment with our resident pyrotechninition, Wink Wink

so there we were, cars being readied with great expectations of some valuable practice time. only to be held back by the odd shower tightly intermingled with downpours Sad Sad so a long discussion took place, which took all of 5 seconds, we could either " go to the pub" or " spoof for the trophies and still go to the pub" or "turn the bodies upside down and race boats, then go to the pub" the decission was inevatable with the LSOR " THATS IT WE ARE GOING TO THE PUB!"

so that put paid to Saturday, other than a bit of time starting engines.

Sunday started nice and sunny but with the threat of showers later, in the first few heats our mentor Ian showed how to do it, putting in some remarkable times, most Contrasts were going well, But Johnny was having problems with his rear NON standard brakes hanging on and causing direction issues, confusing the diff, luckily he seen this just before the finals, after this his game picked up dramatically, until a tangle snapped a shock shaft, dumping the springs and collars, Sad , Tony was getting to grips with the terrain and quickly got to terms it, Mike Craddock had a superb time dropping lap times lap after lap, this was most noticable by the fact that he had only picked up his kit just a few days prior, also he hasnt driven large scale, let alone straight into a national Surprised Surprised Smile Smile Andy was working on tyre choice and settings, i was well pleased, building on round 5's experiences, chasing Ian in second spot through qualifying.

So we climbed up through the finals, with our Ian in his rightfully owned place pole #1 i claimed #2 Mike Craddock #3 then we had Andy and Tony so 5 out of 10 in the A final Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

the Horn sounded and we were off, i couldnt get grip for the first 2 laps, quickly dropping places, after which the grip started coming back Question and after 30 minutes it was revealed, that Ian posted the top laps, earning him 505 points and the undisputed Supernational title, Very Happy i was pleased with another podium position, followed close by Mike Craddock and Andy. i am unsure of Tony's postion. But an A final is good which ever way you look at it.

What a Result for us all !!!!

Mike,
not sure on what final you are talking about but the main final I watched and timed did not have Tony in it.

Ps, is Tony your magical friend Laughing

Yes congratulations to Ian on the SN title, I do believe that James Mc has also won the junior title and to Mr Rally Cross for a cracking first outing in Red.

Hope to see you at more LSOR meetings Mr Cradock sir.

Ps, any photos of the love bus coming out of the field. Did you use Barrys 4 wheel drive -- sorry Barry you only had 3 wheels to drive on!! I have the pics!! Wink

My red van didn't need the help that several suggested it may do to get out of the field! Laughing Cool Cool

With 4 out of the top 5 results at Frome (1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th) going to Contrast, the potential of the car is starting to be seen as we get used to the cars. Very Happy Very Happy

WOW, Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Notts round 8

what a magnificent result, for HF racing Contrasts 1, 2, 3, Very Happy and only a small hand full of parts broken on all cars for the entire weekend,

Our Professor 'O' taking top spot, after a massive come back, hammering the lap times, even with 2 and half brakes working ! ! ! then Mike Cradock in second, for his awesome smooth drive, i will even give myself a kick up the Arse for choosing the wrong front tyres, the soft fronts went off after the first 20 laps or so resulting in understeer, but hey, i am ever so chuffed to pull a third from that, with nearly a third of a tank of fuel left, roll on 45 minute finals ! ! ! !

I did feel for James, his one big chance of taking first after Ian momentarily stopped, also tough luck for Tony as his RX pack dumped, one lap from home, i guess he will have a charging plan already worked out for his next races. Also andy had some bad luck with tyre choice as well.

Many thanks again go to John from HF racing for sponsoring my drive,

and Darren Worth for his massive effort through the year, just so that we can have the racing, the poor chap didnt even get a chance to drive a car.

and thanks to Ian O, Andy K, Darren C, for giving me some very worth while tips,

GOOD LUCK NEXT YEAR

PS where did that photo of the 1,2,3. finish go ?

Cracking last round of the championship for the red coats Very Happy , with a 1 st 2nd and 3rd in the final. Not bad going concidering the car was only released at the start of the year Exclamation Idea

Following my little issue in the final, tip number 19476442652/1 is check your front wheel nuts are tight..even if the wheels have been on and never touched since racing at the previous meeting, they just might fall off at an inconvenient moment! Embarassed Rolling Eyes Laughing
